Cycling is a passion, a passion I caught up with at a young age. I started cycling when I was 11 years old.
As a younger rider I rode for the Belgian Isorex Cycling Team, which was a great cycling development experience.
With the U23 I had two different teams. I rode several years with VL Technics-Abutriek Cycling and one year with
the Lotto U23 team. Both were very enriching and I had the opportunity of learning what being a cyclist means in
every facet. While I was doing races all over Europe, I also managed to finish a master in European Politics at the
Ghent University and succeed in several Management courses at the KU Leuven.
After several years racing the top ranking races in Europe, the American Astellas Cycling Team caught my attention
by offering a very well balanced and challenging road racing schedule. Being a professional cyclist is bringing new
opportunities for me as a rider. Also the way of dealing with things on the west side of the Atlantic is fascinating me.
Learning about those little differences in style and approach along 2014 and 2015 made doing races in the USA and
Canada really worth it.
In 2016 I decided it was time to head back to Europe and race for the Veranda's Willems team. Doing some of the
biggest Classical races in the world alternated with some good stage races meant a new step in my career and a
great deal of experience. 2016 became both for myself and for the Veranda's Willems team a grand cru year bringing
many victories!
For the 2017 season I signed with Pauwels Sauzen-Vastgoedservice where I'm able to keep on building on my career
and become a better cyclist.
